Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s Inaugural

Next-Generation Protein Degradation

January 15-16, 2025

Targeted protein degraders are at the forefront of drug discovery by combating previously “undruggable” targets. Despite this, critical challenges such as stability, bioavailability, specificity, penetration, and solubility remain. Join us for Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s Next-Generation Protein Degradation track where we discuss fundamental and mechanistic principles of degraders and molecular glues, strategies for optimizing delivery, next-generation degraders, combination approaches, computational approaches, and the exciting emerging therapeutic applications to solve some of the toughest problems in this space.

Fundamental Mechanistic Principles and Drug Discovery

  • Induced-proximity approaches
  • Determining drug-like properties such as solubility and permeability
  • Structural characterization (Cryo-EM) and considerations
  • Preventing off-target toxicity and effects

Strategies for Optimizing TPD Delivery

  • Improving TPD bioavailability through chemical modification, salt formulation, and encapsulation
  • Machine learning and computational approaches for modeling, design, and target engagement prediction
  • Tools for improving protein degrader characterization and selectivity
  • Improving tissue-specificity and bioavailability

Next-Gen and Combination Therapies

  • Degrader Antibody Conjugates (DACs)
  • Covalent protein degraders
  • Monovalent protein degraders
  • Autophagy-based degradation
  • Combining protein degradation with small molecule inhibitors or other immunotherapies
  • Novel E3 ligase ligands

Expanding Therapeutic Applications of Degraders

  • CNS targets and crossing the blood-brain barrier (BBB)
  • Applications to neurodegenerative diseases, infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, etc.

The deadline for priority consideration is June 28, 2024.

All proposals are subject to review by session chairpersons and/or the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the overall quality of the conference program. Additionally, as per Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s policy, a select number of vendors and consultants who provide products and services will be offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
